I picked up an 02 not too long ago, and if there's one feature I would want to change, it would be to have a horn button immediately adjacent to my right hand while driving. It's a safety thing with me; I don't like to have to take a hand off the wheel to punch the middle of the wheel to get the horn to sound.
Just wondering if anybody ever hooked up a simple switch to accomplish this, and if so, how you did it.
If I recall correctly, I believe it was cadillas that had a grip switch in the steering wheel that blew the horn when the wheel was squeezed or was it an area on the inside of the wheel the you compressed with thumb pressure.
That was a nice car (for a nagasaki nutbucket that is )
My idea is to pop the center cover/airbag off the steering wheel of my 02 Z06, then with a couple wires, hook up a simple button, and then (maybe w/velcro?) connect it to the area of the wheel closest to the right hand thumb. All without the whole thing looking like total sh*t. Wonder if someone makes a kit.

I use my thumb as it is ... no need to take my hand of the wheel?
Dave, on my 02 Z, the portion of the steering wheel closest to my right hand doesn't actuate the horn. Ya gotta move your hand and press right around the center of the wheel.
If you have a 6sp, buy a bm shifter ball with the button in the middle and wire your horn to it? My hands always on the shifter though. Just a thought.
