there have been a couple of instances where i hear some sort of morse code type of electrical frequency coming from the speakers in my vette...this didn't start until i got a new cell phone a few weeks ago...i just noticed the same sound coming from my computer speakers as i'm sitting here reading through the forum..i'm pretty sure the phone is the culprit as i heard the interference and the phone rang 1 second later.whats the deal?? is this gonna cause some type of short circuit or damage some electrical component in my vette ????
My cellphone makes that noise in any type of car I'm in. Or anything that has a speaker, it's normal I guess, but it doesn't seem right. Some of my older cellphones would trigger motion lights and even trip GFI outlets. Anyone care for a little spare radiation ???
i've had other cell phones in the vette but never had a problem until i got this 1...just dont want it 2 cause the car 2 short circuit or anything like that..
I bet you got one of those new fangled GMS phones!!!
If I leave mine too close to the intercom phone at work it causes the phone to transmit the same sound even when the phone is hung up in the cradel! The new GMS phones transmit to the satilate/cell phone tower every 15 minutes or so!
I do not believe it wil cause any C6 or C6 issues.

Listen carefully .. there may be a message .... "Get out! The call's coming from inside your house!"
Or just the cell signal crossing over thru your speakers. Here's a neat trick:
Next time your in the car, when you hear the noise ... Yell out, "Phone call!" Your passenger will think your related to Ms. Cleo! It works in other cars too ... impress a whole group of your friends!

They almost all do it - they broadcast availability, depending on technology, every 5-15 minutes. Speakers will normally pick it up - nothing wrong with your phone. You will especially hear it right before a call comes in as transmission begins before it rings. Some frequencies will be worse than others, ala Nextel in 800 MHz range.

The phones transmiter "pulses" (it's one way that they conserve battery life), it's sending packets of information to the cell site, all digital cell phones "talk" to the system just to update their location information every few minutes or so.
you are probably more likely to hear the transmitter "pulsing" with a Nextel phone because of the lower freq range that they operate on (800MHz) Nextel is not GSM, it's TDMA
