qUESTION
I AM LOOKING AT A BLACK 2003 CORVETTE AND IT HAS BLACK paint all over the mufflers the owner said this (I went and looked at other vettes and they are painted as well (the Factory mufflers) Anybody here mufflers painted . Thank You

My OEM mufflers are painted but the paint tends to flake off over time. Of course, you don't have to worry about that once you get stainless steel or titanium cat-backs. No one ever paints them (They look great as-is).

Or were you asking if anyone has painted their mufflers another color??

Yes, I believe all the stock coupes, verts and FRCs (non-Z06) have black painted mufflers. My 99 had the same ones. Toss them out and get an aftermarket system or a used set of Z06 titanium mufflers.
I put the Z06 TIs on after I bought the car and have been happy since.

If they are the factory mufflers, then yes, they are painted black. Most aftermarket systems are high polished.
