are paint codes universal or are the unique for each car? if they are universal could someone help me with the paint code for a 1999 nbm? if they aren't... could someone let me know where i can find the correct code?
hmm, the website says:
"GM, Chevy, Cadillac, GMC, Geo, Saturn, Pontiac and any other General Motors usually have a prefix of "WA", "BC/CC", or "U" and are four digits long. Also 2-3 digit number called a secondary number may accompany this one. May look like this WA8524 52U. Paint code locations will vary." http://www.automotivetouchup.com/paintcodes.htm
If you want to be absolutely sure, hurry up and call the local gm dealership parts dept. with your vin code. They will give you the "wa" number which is usually 4 digits long or 3 digits and one letter. Most dealerships will only keep info on cars no more than 5 years old though.
For the 28U RPO (Navy Blue Metallic) in 2000 it lists the paint code as WA-9567 but I cant tell you for sure if the 1999 and 2000 NBM's are exactly the same.

I think that the 2000 will be just fine. I'm not actually using the paint for touch up, i just modified my radio surround and i want to paint it to match the exterior. A shade off wont be noticable since it doen't butt up against the water fall.
