I have my seat memory setup, but sometimes, when I get in the car & close door, put key in, the seat doesn't move. Anyone know why? Probably something stupid on my part, like... put key in 1st, then close door.???

If you did not press the FOB before getting into the car, the computer is unaware which setting to use. So everytime you go to get into the car locked or unlock always press the FOB.
Hope this clears things up for you

Mine does the same thing. Tried everything other Forum members told me - same thing randomly. Sometimes it worked fine, other times it doesn't. Eventually I disabled easy entry. Too much of a PITA.
Daniel, try it after you press the unlock button on your key fob. If I get back in my vette when it hasn't been locked, it does the same thing. I just press the memory 1 button on the door where my settings are stored and the seat moves to my memory position.
I to have the same problem with mine. I heard that this is a problem with Vettes and it is usually in the memory switch on the door. I just turned my seat easy entry off.

Me too. I figured the PCM had better things to remember than where my azz was supposed to be.
Uuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhh.........PITA Bread? Ive had a sandwich made with PITA bread, but what does that have to do with FOBs and seats??????
Seriously though, I too have intermittent seat operation. Some keys respond well to polishing the side contacts near the rubber part of the key, making better electrical contact and thus tell the car who got in....This did not improve my key.....The one my husband uses always works! Go figure....
Cheers,
Jennifer

Reason: spelling
The memory settings WILL work everytime if, a) the car was locked before entering and you unlocked with the key FOB orb) the car was NOT locked but you still hit the unlock button on the key FOB.
The key to the entire thing is telling the car "I am here" by hitting your FOB's unlock button before doing anything else.

Glenn,
I hear you, and I dilligently tried your suggestions and everyone else's suggestions (via advanced search on old threads) - and it works perfectly most times - and then randomly, it will not work. I even tried the "polishing the key" thing that Jennifer suggested - still no consistent joy.

I may have figured out why yours and only yours is not working. Since you have indicated that you are from England I am just wonder if you are getting into the correct side of the car. I am thinking the times it doesn't work you are in the passanger seat to take a drive. Remember left seat to drive here in America.
