Skies were clear today so I decided to take BLKwidow out for a ride. I hit the autobahn and was cruising at about 112 MPH. I was then passed by an older E-class Mercedez. I then decided to follow. He was an experienced driver so I mimicked his turns through the curves we both got up to around 140 MPH for a 50 mile stretch on the A7. No cars on the road I enjoyed the drive. The Mercedez slowed slightly on the up-hills but I was impressed by his handling of that car. He merged to the right lane a couple of times to let me pass but I just wanted to follow.
I learned from the German driver today. I got my fix for the week. I came home and lit up a cigar. It was a good day
Not good I went through 1/2 tank of gas in less than an hour
...still, gotta be great to really get to drive your car like that and not get in $h!t for it . I wish they'd do that with the toll highway we've got here...if we're paying (above and beyond what taxes cover) to use the road, then we should be able to blast up and down it at whatever speed.....but NOOO!
Sounds like a fun day out and it really brings back fond memories of the years we lived in Europe. I was always amused at the reaction of german cars to hills; but the US vehicles just keep on moving out.
Also glad you left the MB Driver with his dignity intact; nothing worse than upstaging (blowing by) a MB Driver with a cheap american car. I remember the German TV commercial where they showed a calm person turning into a raging hog after getting behind the steering wheel of a car.
my only complaint about the experience was the road and wind noise
My wife and I were yelling at each other. But I guess I could not here her telling me to slow down either. That might be a good thing
