Some problems continued from '97 through the '04's. The oil consumption issue, which was a concern mainly with the '01s, seemed to get solved in the '02s. Leaking differentials, fuel guage problems, rocking seats, and column locks still tend to pop up.

A couple of our major complaints, fuel gauge problem and leaking battery are common to other GM vehicles. Other things like plugged up A/C drains may or may not be unique to the C5. I would think they use the same drain hose on other vehicles, but those may have a design that keeps the water on the outside.

Be thankful the car is not perfect.
If this car was 100 % debugged this car would have cost 100K.
This is not a Toyota Camery.

Fixed??? The C6 has inherited the C5 fuel sending unit problem! What do you mean fixed?

GM doesnt fix things. they keep replacing parts with existing inventory in hoping that eventually, the bad ones will all go away. How else would they do it?

Well put! I agree. For what you get I'll put up with the minor inconveniences. Great car wouldn't trade it for anything else.

It's not perfect, but then show me a car that is. And if it were perfect, what would we talk about?

The reality is in the year I've owned my '98 - it has been just about the most trouble free car I've ever owned.

My single biggest expense - outside of fuel, insurance and tags has been all the mods that I couldn't live without!

Welllll..gosh it's like everything else in life and our C5s are no exception...they're sexy and eye catching but when you take her home and learn to live with her you discover all the little warts and blemishes

These are SPORTS CARS. Minor problems go with the territory.

Have you seen the latest survey on automobile reliability from Consumer Guide? The LEAST reliable cars sold in America are Mercedes and BMW. Be glad you didn't pay $100K for a car and then have it give trouble all the time.
