I still have the original Battery in my 2001 but this morning I noticed it turned over a little slow so it looks like it's battery replacement time. I know the battery of choice is the Optima (Red Top), Where is a good place to find them and how long are they suppose to be good?
Hmmm... I noticed that if I hit the window switch up when the window is already up, the headlights dim... Is this a sign that I need a new battery too? Mine's an '01 too...
Everyone with a 97 - 01 that still has the original AC Delco battery in their car needs to check it very carefully for leaks. There is a Tech Tip on this, but I am having trouble getting into Tech Tips tonight - it posts an error for me.
Anyway check the Positive terminal closely for any signs of leaks (white powder), cracks or to see if it is corroded in place, as well as under the battery too. They are known to leak and frequently cause $100s in damage when they leak in Vettes.

Ours does EXACTLY the same thing. 2002 C5. Even when you go to stop. Just engaging the brakes makes the headlights dim. Anyone Else???
