If you have a Harness bar already in your car you can use one of these
HERE
There are other harness bars that have the camera mount already built into them. Other people just strap down a tripod best they can and make great movies that way. For the track, one needs to have a harness bar mount and a safety strap. I use an IO port mount on my roll bar (with a safety strap) and it works great.

You can buy the Harness bar HERE

Then add the bracket I already put up for you in the last post.

With this harness bar you can then buy a 5 point harness and use a real seat belt at the track as well.

The one I use is called The Gripper, and I'm very pleased with it.
Rated to hold 70lbs and easy to use.

I dont have anything against this product but I can see a few defects with its placement and it also has a few safety issues.

I agree, it's a risk I take. The harness bar method would be safer in an accident for sure.

For those of you who own the stickypod, do you think it'll hold up if I use it in a track event? I'm planning to go to the annual Pocono Superspeedway track day this year and would love to film it from inside the vette.

Yes, you can even use it on the outside of your car with a safety harness. Check out their web site.

I have only personally used it internally and it has been rock solid.
