I have not used the Gripper but "at speed" I prefer to trust 4 suction cups (stickypod) to 1 cup (gripper). It's probably an awesome product, just not for me.
Thanks. I also ran into this one on the seller's site, showing it connected to the rear window in a Z06, so I guess that's similar to how you're connecting yours.

Darn, why didn't this thread occur before Xmas?
This is how I use mine on my coupe. I actually bought an extention so I could get the camcorder a bit farther forward.
I am aswell looking for something for my convertible...but i think that this sistem will move and not be firm on a convertible back window...since the top is not rigid....beside the wife or friend holding the camera is there another way to have it inside for a convertible...?

You could mount it to the passengers side window, providing you do not have a passenger with you.
I'm very happy with the Hama "Click" camera mount, which attaches to the windscreen. You can also use it outside the car.
The "Universal" (second picture, click for more info) is a slightly cheaper version without a removable base where the camera attaches.
A security strap is included with each mount.
For those of you who own the stickypod, do you think it'll hold up if I use it in a track event? I'm planning to go to the annual Pocono Superspeedway track day this year and would love to film it from inside the vette.
Yes it will. Check out thier website but the track probably won't allow it.

I've seen these used at Texas World Speedway with great success (the ones I saw were the old versions that were originally called conecams). Just plug it into your video camera and put it in the glovebox, etc and suction it inside the car or even outside.
