Default Koolflex hose

Hi, just want to ask this question again. Does anyone have the radiator hose(upper) from Koolflex and have you had any problems with it slipping off? Are there any nice chrome hose covers out there? Thanks Doug

I have hose like cool flex on my street rod, its stainless, not chromed . Been ok. However, I like the look of the silicone hoses offered by LPE . Cool flex must be installed corectly, never get antifreeze on the rubbers,I have seen lotsof it blow off. Plus, the guys that sell it (ingleses) are jerks (to most folks)....Coolflex is just chromed flex large stream and gas line adopted from industry to autos.

Get ahold of TRAYC6 - she ran some of this on her Z06. Looked good, but don't know what trouble if any she had with it.

No problems at all if installed correctly.
When I first put this on I had a problem . The rubber hose you use as a spacer comes from Koolflex with a coating on it.....it is very important that this cating is cleaned off to stop it from slipping.
I used brake cleaner and have not had a problem since

They have chrome , stainless and satin finish.....get what you think looks best

yea I think you did.....clean it real good with something that will break down the coating they put on it.... like I said I used brake cleaner.
Also note thet the neck off the Rad. is sloped down so your hose will have to be bent that way and then slowly bend it back up to where you want it

the keys are cleaning (like stated above) and pre-shaping to all three axis:

don't let the smaller OD of the Coolflex worry you. The I.D. is the same as the radiator and block neck I.D.'s

here are all of my Coolflex pics:

then replace the "0" with "1", then "2", through 7
