Default Empty Nest Depression...

Welp, she's gone... hibernating for the winter season... Stuck her in an airplane hangar on Monday... I didn't think it would suck this bad. My pride & joy, my stress relief, my bragging rights, my thunder! MAN this hurts! I damn near cried when I cleaned her out, covered her up, shut the doors, and hit the lock button. One last "BEEP" and that was it!

I've read about this, but I never knew it would be so bad. I need a support group!

Thanks for listening...

I feel your pain, although mine is in the garage so I can sit in it and make Vroom-Vroom noises

My son just went back to college, my daughter just went back to college, and my wife went back to San Diego (she in the Navy stationed there). Now I am all by my lonesome once again, but hey, as long as there are toys in the garage, no empty nest!

I keep telling myself that now I can start saving for mods, but it's not quite working. Last night, this evil, black-hearted neighbor parked in the 'Vette' spot with her 89 Honda Accord. I wanted to slash her tires.

Maybe I'll start feeling better when I start getting weekly visits from the UPS man... one can only hope...

I don't know how you guys can do it. I haven't driven mine since Sunday and I'm going bonkers!!! It snowed on Monday and its gonna snow again today and over the weekend so who knows how long she'll be indoors. I drive her year round but when it snows, she stays in until it melts and the salt is gone. Hopefully, I'll be back on the road in two weeks. I've been praying every day for rain!

Mine is up on ramps in the garage, but knowing she is opnly a few feet away is always a good feeling. When I get lonely I go out there and do another MOD. Now I just wish it would clear up some to try the new MODS out....

I use to LOVE Winter until I bought the C5. Maybe time to look at that job offer in Tampa more seriously....

I dream of the day I can buy a house with a garage... for now, I took it to a place about 4 hours away from home. It's free, secure storage in an airplane hangar, six minutes from my friend's house. He's got his 96 Collector Edition in his garage, so I can admire his for now...

I've scheduled bi-weekly visits to clean her up and maybe get some WOT runs out on the runway every now and then...

I don't know how you guys do it..... Gotta live somewhere that I can drive my Vette, ride my Harley and play golf 12 months a year. I'm not gloating, just very appreciative that I live in FL. Stay warm and look forward to the thaw

No one really understands, unless they own a vette. My kids and wife look at me like I have three heads when I tell them, "get away from the vette." or "don't bump the car." " yes I know there is a car cover on it." " get away anyways"

At least I can drive once a week until the spring.

1. Your know where she is and you have the keys.
2. Average daytime highs for January there are 43 F, Average lows 22.9
3. Pick an "above average" day with the sun shining, go get her, start her up and get your fix!

I know how you feel! I have not driven my car since Saturday. If I had to put her away for months, I would be going crazy!!!

I feel your pain. Mine has been under wraps in the garage since the first week of November. It won't get any easier for you. Dan

Heres the bright side, Spring is officially only 2 months away! But yes, you
need a garage! Wonderful things garages. My baby is in the garage under
her cover. Of course I do a quick visual inspection on an amost daily bases!!
Plus, I do take her out every couple weeks.

Just keep in mind when you get her back, how sweet its gonna be!!

I feel your pain. Bummer.

I'm in CT, and while Inferno has been asleep in my garage for the past 5 days due to snow and salt/sand on the roads, as soon as it gets a little warmer (and it rains), he's back on the road!!
