C5 Trailer Hitch?

Ok, don't come at me with flames, but is it possible to put a trailer hitch on the vette to tow a jet ski?

Sure it is possible. I saw one advertised with one of the Forum vendors. sorry but I don't recall wich one.

It would be best if the Jet Ski was color coordinated with your Vette!

Ive just put one on to pull my jetski, its a drawtite part number 24658 cost me 170 installed with wiring.

Yes, it's possible. I THINK the name of your hitch is "hide-a-hitch". Do a google on it.

BTW, I've heard that the tow limits for a vette are 800 lbs. Better check that trailer and jet ski.

I wouldn't want to do it but yes, you can mount a hitch on your vette. I've seen a couple pics of vettes towing jet ski's on here in the past. I don't remember who posted them, maybe they will chime in here later and get you the info.

Bought my '99 used and it came with one so the owner could trailer his extra set of track rims/tires to Summit Point for circuit racing - strange to see one on a Corvette. Yanked that sucker off the first day I adopted the car!

Does that mean you never carry a girl in it, drive it to work or go to the grocery store? After all, it's a sports car and you shouldn't do ANYTHING in it that isn't ....sporty, right?

Andy at A&A Corvette http://www.aandacorvette.com/ had one on his coupe to tow the jet skiis. It was very cool being hidden behind the pop-up license plate frame.

Can be done. Just have to watch how much weight you two behind the car so you don't damage any components like the tranny.
