When I came back to my car from a quick grocery shopping the engine did not start.
Roadside assistance tried to jump start it. Nothing. Battery in full charge (12 months old) and in perfect condition. No click, nothing.
Two hours later another Roadside assistance towing truck took it. By now it should be at the dealer.
I am curious about the explanation.
Here I am waiting to hear from the dealer and thinking that I have to put a copy of the codes in the glove compartment when the car is back.

Does somebody had the same problem?

By the way I did not forget to make an inspection of the car with the truck driver .

How do you know that the battery is fully charged? Voltage doesn't tell all about the battery's true condition. Please let us know what you find out.

My guess is one of the following.

If you have an MN6 your clutch safety switch is bad. Auto, netural safety switch is bad.

You may have blown fuses in the starting circuit. I am at work and can not get to the service manuals to check on which maxi fuses they are.

You could have a bad theft deterrent relay.

or the started/solonid could be bad.

Please let us know how you make out and what the problem was.

You did not state if your lights, dash lights and radio ect functioned properly but if they are NOt. you could either have a loose or bad battery cable or a BAD BATTERY!

Thanks

That certainly indicates that you have a bad connection. Clean your battery connections thoroughly and try again.

My C4 did the same thing to me this week. The car had been working fine that afternoon, until I made a short stop a my tuner's garage. Came out and it wouldn't start. Instrument panel gauges and lights came on okay, but there was no relay click or any signs of the starter working. The battery is only a year old. All connections appeared tight and not corroded.

At least my car had the good grace to die right in front of a Corvette specialist's garage!!

We put a portable starter/charger unit on it and it started perfectly and has been running well since. The best I can figure is that a relay was stuck for a short while.

Haven't had it looked at yet, since the problem was a once time occurrence.

Good luck

This is what I thought too: a bad relay or solenoid.
It was difficult to enter the ignition key at first and then no more difficulty.
Dealer did not call me. I did. Car was there for over an hour. No time yet to get deeper but said Battery is OK.
Everything was working: lights, AC, radio and so on but the car itself .

I'd be frustrated too. Hope they figure out what is wrong and get it corrected.

This happened to me in my wife's car. Everything worked it even turned over but would not fire. Turned out to be the anti-thief system. Or at least that's what they told me. The key on that car didn't have a slug in it. But they said it was the ignition lock thief circuit. Keep us posted. We like to know the reasons for this type of fault.
