garage floor tiles - help needed!
I've been researching garage floor tile solutions, trying to figure out what's best and most cost effective. I prefer not to stain the floor, but rather install a removable tile. Here are the ones I have found so far. Does anyone know of other deals that may be better?

Go to Lowes/Home Depot, get VCT tile in your color choice/patern, cut/paste to your design preference, and wax...easy to maintain.

Check into being a dealer for racedeck. Then you can get a lower price. I 'almost' did it - forget the discount. I was going to sell them on ebay and make a fortune

floor tiles
checkout mid america there tiles are 2.25/sq ft did my garage for 500.00. the only set back is colors-(black, white, red, gray). very happy with mine did black and white checkerboard with bright white walls.

Have you tried looking at this? It is an epoxy system. I have decided to go this way insted of tiles. My garage is 1800 sq ft so the tiles priced themselves out of my pocket book. This would cost me about $1500. I haven't used it yet or seen it done. It maybe another option for you though.

Garage Flooring Recommendations
As I see it, epoxy/painting the floor is a huge PITA. Tile, or matting is the way to go.

When you are done with the floor, buy the liquid wax and mop it on. Let it cure for a couple of hours and you are in business. There is also a stripper, so you can strip the wax off once a year and re-wax to keep it looking great...

I went with the Race Deck & love it. I had my floor coated and just put the Race Deck in the third stall where I park the vette. My wife bought it for me for my B-day so I'm not exactly sure the cost - I think it was around $3.50 / square. I put the whole floor together in a few hours and it looks great (I'll e-mail you a pic if you want). Advantages are that it is easy to clean and you can move it if you want to clean underneath & it's plastic so it won't crack like real tile. Good luck with your decision.

I'm going for the coin pattern which costs a little more, but it's still less than $2/sq ft. I've done a lot of research on this, and decided against the tiles due to leakage... Don't want the hassle and expense of epoxy. For the price and durability, I don't think you can beat the BLT mats.

How does the VCT hold up ? My spring project will be epoxy or tile on the floor. I just called Home Depot & $27.50 per case (covers 45 sq ft) sounds like a stellar deal. Did you acid etch the floor first or just scrub the crap out of it & then glue down ? More input from you would be appreciated

Race Deck Pricing
I installed the Race Deck floor this past summer. If my memory serves me correctly, I bleive there was a price break at 1,000 pieces (3 car garage) and I was able to get them at $2.69/each direct from Race Deck. They did not go out of their way to offer this; I had to ask. Shipping wasn't cheap, but they cut me a break here too. I have been very happy with the end result and if I knew how to post pics I would.

Hi Adrian...I bought my flooring from Lowes the black and white squares. You just peel off the backing and stick it on the floor. I first power washed my floor until it completely dried. Cost is 0.98 cents a sq. ft. That was 4 years ago and its still looking great. Just mop it when dirty. Good Luck!

I've done this in my last 2 houses and will do this garage this spring. The first time I did it I did acid etch the floor after I cleaned it, but after watching them put the stuff down in my store, I did not acid etch the floor the second time I did it. I just cleaned the floor really well with a power washer. It held up great both times...I will acid etch this one, just because it really does not save you much time by not doing it...just to be on the safe side. My last two garages were situated so that you pulled the cars straight into the garage, so there was no "twist" stress from turning on the tile at all. This house has a side entry garage, so there will be some side to side stress on the tiles from turning into the garage.
It held up fantastic and always looked great. I waxed it twice a year, (takes about 20 minutes) and stripped off the wax once a year and rewaxed...
What I liked about it was that the cost was so good you could do the whole garage rather than just one stall or parking spot. When I was done I just put some wood trim along the bottom to give it a finished look.
