WRONG!!!!! The camlock should be down basically on the legs!!!! The crotch strap should be set to hold the LAP BELT portion of the harness below your soft abdomen and ON the legs that are not going to give you massive kidney and other organ damage when hit with full torso weight at many Gs of force. The shoulder harnesses needs to come over the shoulders close to to the neck, but not pinching it, and then down the chest and past the belly to fit into the lap belt. Failure to keep the lap belt across your lap----your upper legs--can result in severe internal organ damage. I have set up harnesses in many full-on racing cars as well as street driven cars with 5 and 6 point race harnesses. I have read SCCA and NASCAR standards for belt location and mounting. The German harness maker Schroth, also has full instructions for how to locate mounting points and how to adjust the belts for maximum safety in impact. I now use only Schroth racing harnesses, and when I get around to installing 5 points in the C5, it will be Schroth. I use their FIA certified camlock harness sets, not their smaller 4 point DOT approved harness.

Please install and use racing harnesses carefully and use them correctly. The DOT already forbids the use of these superior protection devices in street cars, probably for many reasons, but ease of mis-use which can cause injury, rather than protect as intended, is likely one of them.
