replied on the wrong damn thread before but check out this stuff www.lobucrod.com It looks like the same stuff used in C5cowboys kits,
of course its not pre-cut but $28.00 for 40 s.f. is not bad.
check out the Product Pics looks familiar. Its going to be tough to choose
from all these choices when I do this mod.
I would be concerned about the ease of installation and the fit of carpet while putting the interior back together. The frost king was easy to install were you had to do verticle surfaces because of it's adhesive qualities.
I would hate to think what it would be like to tape each peice in place... and hope it stuck well enough to be able to get the carpet in with out the matting coming apart. As you can see, lots of corners and contures.
Using 1/8 (corrected) frost king, I had some difficulty fitting the carpeting in the 3 storage compartments. It was nearly binding in the inner corners, it also got in the way of my 12 disc CD player mounts. I also had some problems getting the storage covers to lock into place. Any thing thicker.... hmmm, it could be a problem. I think the Frost King solution is the way to go... it's right at the limit of what the C5 is willing to accept.

CULookin, if you can get enough Dynamat Extreme to cover the whole interior (same as our kit) for $180 I'll send you a check for $100 just for the info on where to get the material - if it's legit. I've priced Dynamat Extreme, and in order to do the same amount of coverage as our pre-cut kit it would be A LOT more than $180! Even at wholesale bulk pricing we're talking more than double that before cutting it....
Let me know!

Well Dan, get out your checkbook... I spent a total of $178.94 on 2 bulk packs (two 36 sqft packs)... These two kits did my ENTIRE CAR!! See pics, I actually finished up tonight. Everything is done from the passenger cabin to the whole rear.
This first one is the front almost completed:
The area behind the seats:
front of the trunk area done:
Workin on the rear:
I forgot to snap a pic of the final product so I pulled out part of the rear carpet and got a quick one:
Here are the item numbers of the two auctions I won on ebay for the packs. I bought them at the Buy It Now price and they are always available for these prices. My eBay ID is crossmax1084
(1) 5741883985
(2) 5733950625
You can also simply search for Dynamat Extreme and sort by highest price first and a bunch will pop up!
So there's proof that I did the entire car with 2 36sqft packs of Dynamat Extreme for under $180.
When can I expect my $100 check?

How do you figure that???
According to the auctions that you listed you paid:
$85.95 (Dynamat) + $30.95 (freight) = $116.90
and
$92.99 (Dynamat) + $29.99 (freight) = $122.98
$239.88 TOTAL
Looks like that is about $60 over the $180 threshold.
Plus...I saw a post by you in the For Sale section where you were looking for more Dynamat because you ran out. Someone pointed you towards Best Buy so I am assuming that you probably spent another $50 there.
That would run your total project up to the $300 area.
Hey 2k1 vette, you are one of those guys who is really good in math haha! Anyway, I have family that lives in Oceanside Cali and they had no problem picking it up for me. They come out here often to visit their son's at the Naval academy and brought them out here, ie, no shipping charges (do plane tickets count as shipping charges?). As for the other pieces I needed, I put a double layer behind the seats in order to try to quite down the cabin a little more. This took two whole big pieces for a total of 8 sqft. of material. I needed only 3 sqft. to finish up the rear. If I had done the whole car in only one layer, I would have had at least one full sheet left over. So, there's the holes filled in for you!
P.S. Just like Gpotski said on the first page, you can do the WHOLE car with under 72 sqft. of material!!

Ah ha.....I see. Lucky you. Those shipping charges are one of the things that has stopped my from ordering the Dynamat yet. I know that stuff is a little heavy but I cant stand the thought of paying $30-$35 freight on an $85 item. Oh well, I guess its still cheaper than anywhere else.
don't know, still 4 inches of snow outside... we'll see though
When you knock on it like you would a door, it no longer makes a hollow sounds, rather a thud... so hopefully it worked!

LOL. Sorry. I hope you're not hated by the Frost King-ons like I am.
BTW, the new bumper should be done this week, so I might buzz you for that wiring info. Thanks.

I was kinda excited about the price of that Dynamat.... I was considering offering a precut kit of it... maybe even my product and dynamat for an extreme kit. I might just send you a check if I can work something out with him on a bulk order deal.
There's no fit problems with our kits - can be a little tight around the compartment covers but you can trim that back if you are concerned with it. Your compartment covers are going to be resting on the area you would trim if you did anyway.
Planning on having a sale again soon, I'll post it to let anyone who's interested know or you can email me direct for info. Just have to get my inventory back up to 'sale quantities' and PAY ALL THIS INCOME TAX!!!!
There's a lot of options out there, all of them work, just have to decide what's right for you.I say 'GO WITH EXOTIC VETTE'S KIT!' You won't be disappointed!
