He said it was the best way to do it ECONOMICALLY.
I took that to mean that if you wanted to spend double or triple the amount of money that the Frost King method does, you might improve on it somewhat. However, given the results I've heard about here on the forum, I don't know if you really get much out of more expensive methods. I'm sure there's SOME advantage to spending nearly a grand on Dynamat Extreme, but from what I've heard, it ain't worth the eigh hundred bucks or so more that it costs.
For my money, ET's mod is still the best bang for the buck you can do.

light weight, and easily reversible..
There is no noise coming from the front wheels and if you double the insulaltion over the wheels wells, you will make it even quieter.

Is it adhesive backed?
The 4 foot width looks promising.
Hey Bill, what width is the Reflectix roll?

I can't see 3/8th's of an inch making it easy to re-install the carpet, esepcially around the consol and the seats.

Let me know!

I am guessing that you would need at least 2 of those kits and even then it probably wouldnt be enough to do everything. I figure its got to be about $400 for the Dynamat to do the entire interior.
I'll be using the kit that Dan sells, its much cheaper, just a effective and pre-cut for easy install.
You'll be happy with it!Email me for special pricing!

That looks like the same stuff Dan uses in his kits. I installed one of his kits in my coupe, and it sure helps, although I might still do the wheel wells as outlined by ET and Mike-Mercury.
I used Dynamat extreme, 2 bulk packs, 72 sq.ft to single layer cover my rear hatch area, the cockpit, and the rear wheel wells. I had one full sheet left over (out of 18 in 2 bulk packs). The Dynamat Extreme cost $234 total...$88 each bulk pack plus shipping (bought on E-Bay).
I then used 3/8 inch thick B-Quiet Vcomp in the rear hatch area...two rolls (each is 13.5 sq.ft) to put over the Dynamat. The Vcomp cost $55 per roll...about $130 total with shipping. The rear carpet re-installed without difficulty...though I kept 1/4 inch gap near the speaker housing free to allow the carpet to slide in easily. Check out this link to photos of my B-quiet install over the Dynamat.

The sound reduction with the Vcomp over the Dynamat was outstanding. I will post my DB reduction when I get the Vette out of hibernation when this winter weather clears.
The Frost King seems to have a thicker, more sound blocking character than Dynamat alone has. The Frost King may reduce sound more than Dynamat alone...though with the addition of Vcomp, the combination is undoubtedly better than Frost King alone.
I thank Evil-Twin and Mike Mercury for their posts for inspiring me to take on this project. I was amazed how well it worked out, and it's really an easy Mod that makes the Vette more enjoyable each time out.
Good luck with which way you go.
