WTB: Wtb scam
#21
Be careful if your trying to buy something and this guy contacts you. I posted a thread looking to buy an airbridge. dex267 sent me a pm with a picture of what he had and I agreed to send him payment via Wallmart 2 Wallmart (big mistake) because he said he didn't have paypal anymore. I didn't get the airbridge and am out $150.00. His email is jflw5211@gmail.com, BEWARE! I bought a lot of parts on ebay and on corvette forum site through the years and this is the first time something like this happened. Always learning!
keep this bumped up!

He is probably going to see this but we should pretend to make purchases from him. Force him to keep trying to pick up money various locations. Western union, moneygrams, walmarts....

Hi: HSP 22 has been offering to sell me 2000 Corvette Service Manuals in response to my WTB. His email is 01hsp22@gmail.com. Has been a member since May 22. Has provided photos that appear legit and reports he is shipping from California. No discussion of payment via Walmart so far.

HSP22 is now asking for payment via WalMart for the 2000 Corvette Service Manuals that I want to buy. It is almost certainly the same guy. Please shut him down Mr. Moderator.

These scammers appear from time to time and, invariably, want payment through some measure that is not reversible. As Pewter99 mentioned, we aren't able to monitor PMs, so we don't know the scam is on until someone lets us know. The quickest way to nip the scam and dispatch the scammer is to report the suspicious PM by clicking on the triangle outlined by red at the top right of the PM.
Doing so immediately sends a copy of the suspicious PM to moderators and administrators and allows us act. Posting a thread is okay, but the thread may not be quickly noticed or reported to moderators/admins.
