I am looking for a scan tool that I can use on most/all OBDII vehicles. I have a 1995 Blazer (Vortec V6 OBDII) and I am looking to buy a 2003 Z06 and would like a tool to at least be able to scan both of these cars. I looked at the EFILive tool but all it says is for LS1/LS6 GM vehicles. Would this scanner work in the Blazer or is there another I should look at? Suggestions well appciciated. Thanks!
I think Auto Tap would be a good choice since I know it is universal in nature..
Not sure about EFI Live though. I thought it was good for all OBDII cars . Maybe someone with more experience will chime in.
If you are looking for a software based scan tool and you are not looking for tuning software, then you should look at an OEM version. They OEM's will scan all the generic parameters (about 45) and you can get a GM enhanced version and scan up to 130 parameters in a vette and 200 in a truck. The better ones are bi-directional and can do CASE LEARN functions and more. Professional quality software runs $200-400. That is why most opt for HPTUners or EFILive--a few dollars more and you have tuning capability. If you just want scanning, then EASE or AutoIngenuity type of software is the way to go.

Your 95 Blazer should still be ODB1, and the Vette is ODB2. I know snap on makes/made a scanner that would do OBD1/2 applications.

The Blazer was a end of 95 model where a change over took place and it is an OBDII system. It was just my luck too because I had a 1990 Vette with the OBDI system and I used to check the codes with the paperclip method. I went to check the Blazer (because it is a 1995 and should be OBDI) and ofcourse the label under the hood by the radiator says it is an OBDII. Just my luck now I need to get a scan tool if I want to pull codes from the Blazer.
