I have a 99 C5 with a Predator tune. I had never changed the rev. limiter until now and it doesn't work. I've tried various rpms etc. and it revs right on by. I did install A Column Lock Bypass recently. Do you think this may have somehow disconnected the rev limiter?
Also, there is an "on" and "off" rev. limiter setting. Predator shows both as being the same. I did set them at different rpms but that didn't work either.
Any ideas? Thanks!
would be helpful to know whether your C5 has a manual tranny or automatic.
I'm gonna assume you have the automatic.
there are a few things that you can check.
there are multiple areas to enter RPM. One is the global rev limiter, and the other is the RPM for each WOT shift. Make certain you don't have the RPM "per each shift" higher than the global rev limiter.
Also, there is an "on" and "off" rev. limiter setting.
I've never seen this field on the Predator made for your year C5
there are 3 different model Predators that will work on the C5 - each covers certain years. Are you certain you have the one that is meant for a 1999 C5 ?
Also; the Predator doesn't like to work on a car that already had its factory program changed. Is there any chance the car had already received some sort of program change by some other device ?
Sorry about the lack of info., Mike.
It is a manual. My car did not have a prior tune. I've only seen one place to change rev.limiter.
When you open that window, it lists gears 1-6, the rev. limiter setting and the word "ON". Below this it starts again with gears1-6, the rev. limiter setting and the word "OFF".
My predator is Unit 7198 version 1.03.
Thanks
