Best PC based scan tool??
Hi everyone,
I think I am going to be in the market for a PC based scantool. Not having done much research on the matter, I would love to get all of your opinions. Thanks....

for a cheap tool that does ALMOST everything.. PCMSCAN is great.
For a decent priced tool that does EVERYTHING....EFI LIVE scan seems to work great for me.
Everyone else will have their opinions.

EFI Live here, started with the Scan Software, then the Personal Tune software, then the Tune Commerical...Next will be V2...its a madness that will consume you
Cool stuff and fun to learn.
You can Download it and install it, to see what all you can do with it before you buy (you cannot log with it as you need the cable, but you can snoop around the menus and see whats involved).

I use HP Tuners to tune all of my cars and customers cars.
I have to tell you.. the scan tools are neat for flashing lights but even if you find an issue, what are you going to do with it?
Spend the money and use a real full solution.
I recommend and use HP Tuners... look over your options and look at what others who can help you are using.

The full package is $650 for the pro MVPI, you can data log up to 4 0-5V sensors. I log Fuel pressure, Wideband and a 3 bar map sensor... you can use the data to actually tune the car, not just look at lights.
for whatever you decide.
