Hp tuners is a great tuning tool, but what you get will depend on who's using it If He/She is a tuner who is experienced with LS based engine management, you should be just fine.

well said, HP tuners or EFI live are just tuning tools, the deciding factor is who is typing the key board. It's not like a hand held that just down loads a basic tune.

HP Tuners is just a software package used for tuning.
The quality of the tune will depend on the person using the software.

Its like asking, is a z06 good for autoX. Of course the answer is...depends on who is behind the wheel.

Sorry I think I need a translater for what you are "trying" to say. You said a specific tuning software was the only way to go...that is what I was asking "why" about. Why is HP Tuners the only way to go?

Yes, you need a w/b. Without one you're just guessing on the AFR at WOT. If you guess wrong, BOOM. $200 for a w/b vs. $xxxx for a new engine. Not a hard decision. Either EFI or HPT is a good choice. I use HPT.

For tuning, just put it where one of the narrow-band sensors is, or weld in another bung in front of the cats if you want to run one permanently.

For a Na car you do not need a wideband to tune the car IF you know what your doing. If your a first time tuner then yes you should have a wideband.Of course it might be alot cheaper just to pay a tuner to do your car instead.

most give you break on price, after the first tune, the first tune is what cost them money, becuase they have to register your vin #

I have used both HP tuners and EFI live, there are good thing and bad things about both. I think HP tuners is easier to use but I like some of the scanning that EFI live has.

If the truth was known, a-lot have just coping some one,s tune and hitting you up for 400.00 are more. If it is not a really known shop I wouldnt do it any more. will cost you more in the long run...
