the DiabloSport U7198 Predator has more functionality/adjustability and better tunes...

and here's a listing of the adjustable parameters you have available with it and can adjust yourself:

#
Timing Table 1000-1800rpm (+/- 20%)
#
Timing Table 2000-4000rpm (+/- 20%)
#
Timing Table 4000-7000rpm (+/- 20%)
#
Fuel Table 2000-4000rpm (+/- 20%)
#
Fuel Table 4000-7000rpm (+/- 20%)
#
Idle (+ 500rpm / -300rpm)
#
Speed Limiters (adjustable in Trucks Only - limiter is already removed for cars in the preset tunes)
#
Rev Limiters
#
RPM Shift Points
#
MPH Up and Downshifts
#
Shift Timing
#
Shift Pressure
#
Cooling Fan ON and OFF temperatures
#
Re-Calibrate Speedometer for Gear and Tire Size Changes
#
Torque Management abuse mode time limit ON/OFF
#
% torque reduction vs. RPM ON/OFF
#
Upshift torque reduction (all gears) ON/OFF
#
Adjust for different injector size
#
Adjust COT enable temperature

plus you have the ability to save data logs, have custom tunes created specifically for you/your vehicle, etc etc.

The hypertech handheld has 2 settings for performance--The higher setting requires 93 octane fuel--depending on your state you may only have 91 oct. (like in calif) so you are left with the low setting ---otherwise it pings like crazy---These engines are already pretty well tuned --bone stock---In the lower setting you may only get 5-10 RWHP gains--and if you have 93 oct fuel --still only about 15-18 RWHP---Not really worth the now nearly $450 price for what you get (IMO)-
You would be better off to get a dyno/street driven tune for about the same money and max out your potential--Especially if you have an automatic---there are many tables that will make you car quicker without even adding a single HP !!! The Diablo addresses more tables than Hyper. or Superch.--but still only sctaches the surface---AND most of the Diablo tables are all done changed globally by %-- to the entire table---Not the premier way to make changes-- A full blown tune like Hp Tuners or EFILIVE is best----You can get it done for about the same cost as a handheld

PS OR if you are a tinkerer and willing to learn--are computer savy and engine savy--you can buy either HP or EFILIVE for 2 vehicles for around $700 and have the ability to make changes yourself as you do future mods--There is excelent support from them both and here on the forum if you get stuck---

Throughout the years seeing hypertech tuned cars I would say do not run there performance tune.Every car we tested made more power on the stock tune than the Hypertech power tune.
