P1416- yuk!!
Well; Have had my 98 A4 parked for almost a month now due to a CEL.
My DIC is not working (no jokes now....too easy). Can't retrieve codes there..................
Went to O'rielly's today. I've been told they would use a code reader to check my codes. Weeellllllll, the dude behind the counter tells me the company no longer lets them do that due to liability reasons; but that he would gladly use his PERSONAL one (very handily right there in his pocket) to check my codes for the low, low price of only $40.00............
Uhhuuuhhhhhh............................ ....................
Soooooo..........after purchasing my own code reader for twice that amount (it was the principal of the thing, you know) I went home and hooked her up and lo-and-behold!!!!
The dreaded P1416 code!!!!
Now, I have used the search feature and read about cleaning them (sometimes works for a while, sometimes..........)
Also read about rerouting hoses and such (seems a bit of trouble)........
Anybody have any other suggestions?
I live in the peoples republik of Commiefornia..........so it all has to be there and working (blah).
Am I doomed to take off the rails and intake?

There are some good tips about cleaning the valve on the forums. Check them out.
Does the car sit a lot? My car would pop that code randomly for about the first month after coming out of hibernation, then stay off for the rest of the driving season.
