Default Injector Offset Question

It is my understanding that the stock injectors and the SVO injectors are both made by Bosch. If this is the case, then wouldn't we want to use the stock injector offset table?

No, the larger the injector, the harder it is for it to open and close, so the offset should be increased.

FYI, also the svo inj. are rated at 43.5 psi and the gms are at 58 psi, you have to use a formula to convert the svo inj. to 58 psi before you insert them into your table or it will be incorrect, unfortunately I am not at my desk and don't have the formula for you tonight. If you do a search at ls1tech.com for this you should be able to find what you need.

Hopefully this helps out.

Thanks

Mike,
Thanks for the info about flow. Do you concur that the SVO's should have different Injecector Offset values in the table?

Also, I was told that the SVO's are tested at 39 PSI. Now I am confused about what test pressure I should use.

Not true, the coil specs of the SVO are the same as stock and do not require any voltage or time delays then stock.
They are both made by Bosch and only flow rates are different.

I always use a different offset for the SVO injectors and had good results doing this.

I am thinking they are both disc type injectors (do not remember off the top of my head) - but how do you know that the discs are the same dimensions/same weight? The coils may both be made by bosch, but again, how do you know they are the same part number.

That aside, I can pull specs from a Ford computer (where the SVO injectors were OEM) and look at the same table - the values are most certainly different.

I don't have the eqipment to measure this value, but from what I have seen and experienced it definitely needs to be changes when switching to a different injector.
