Default O2 Sensor Info

Since I can't get an answer on my other question let me post this:

Should the O2 sensor readouts be the same for the upstream sensors, ie, 44-45 on both sensors ??

What if your left O2 sensor was reading all over the place or jumping in value, 22-77-34-56 ?

Is that O2 sensor BAD ??

Thanks,

Jim

Probably , but I would have first moved left/right O2 sensors the other side and checked if the unstable signal moved to the other side .

1st you need to use a scanning device that read data in "real time"
While the engine is running the front 02 voltages should be changing or oscillating rapidly from like .150 to .950 milivolts -- --The average 02 voltages should be like from .400 to .500 milivolts---- IF the 02 voltages are flatlined on any number (normally .450) this means that it is DEAD---and should be replaced----
02 sensors are like spark plugs once they get fouled--they are junk -Another issue with LT headers is that both will change slowly--This is a whole other topic

PS If both seem to be changing rapidly yet the AVERAGE voltages from left to right seems to be alot---- The cause of this issue is most often an exhaust leak-----The side with the LOWER average voltage is the side with the leak---
