OBDLink MX+ problems
I have a 99 Corvette that I'm trying to hook my OBD dongle into in order to get some data from some of the sensors and such (and possible hook into the torque pro app). I've had this OBDLink MX+ dongle that I've used on other vehicles without a problem. However, trying to connect it to my Corvette is giving me problems. My phone connects to the dongle over bluetooth just fine, but then it can't communicate with the OBDII in the car. Anyone have any idea what might be causing problems here? My corvette is a 99, as far as I can tell it should be supported.. I realize I might have to contact the software developer for the OBDLink device, but I just wanted to check here if anyone else has had a similar problem getting this particular device to work. I'm starting to question if something is modified on the corvette that I'm not aware of preventing it from talking to it haha.
Just to verify my sanity I did try the OBDLink MX+ in my truck, and it connected immediately there with no problems. So, I know the dongle is working at least. I just don't know enough about OBDII ports to figure out if something isn't right on my corvettes or what... Not even sure where to start diagnosing problems with it.
What app are you using, the OBDLink app?
Take a look at the various vehicle profiles or whatever settings might be on it. If you can manually set the protocol, try making it J1850 VPW for the C5. Just a random thought, but some setting could be set to CAN after connecting to newer vehicles and maybe it's not properly scanning thru and testing all of the different protocols.
