Hi all!
I bought a 2000 Corvette (dbgm conv w/6-speed) last year. Along with the Vette came a Hypertech chip/programer Model 83006. I have no info on it; I called Hypertech and has long been discontinued. So, I don't have a manuel or any info on how it works. Question are does anyone have a manual, experience with a Hypertech MaxEnergy #83006. I don't want to plug it in without knowing the proceedure. Don't want to screw-up my car! Do I now own a paperweight?
Those handheld type tuners do Not allow specific individual table programing
They only come with "Pre Programmed Tunes----They may offer only 2 different tunes--One for Regular fuel and one for Premium fuel
You can plug it into your OBD2 port --turn the key ON and on the screen it will prompt you thru the download with ON SCREEN Instructions----
Of course a real tune (HP/EFILIVE) would be best Especially if you have Major mods to your car like cam headers intake manifold But with simple bolt ons like a cat back exhaust or a CAI a handheld would be OK
I would give it a try 1st----- The previous owner may have put it back to STOCK before selling it
