Today we have been burgluraized. On top of what they have stolen is the two keys for the vette.
I've jack the car remove a wheel, brake caliper, rotors and wheel bearing. I don't think they can take the car.
But now I need to change the locks and reprogram the car with a new code for the remote.
I went to chevy it is already close to $1000 without the reprog.
CAn I do it myself? is it difficult?
First off - that TOTALLY SUCKS! Changing out the 2 door cylinders is easy. The ignition lock does not look too bad at all (getting the dash apart is easy on these cars). I am not sure about changing the frequency for the remotes - Maybe someone can tell us how to do that.....
Doesn't the security code change all the time with the Vette so if you program the new FOBs then the car will only unlock with that new FOB and the old FOBS will be worthless.

If you go into the FOB training mode on the DIC and retrain new fobs, (you can train up to three fobs at the same session) any other fobs that have NOT been trained in that session WILL NOT work!
It is as simple as that!! If you get a new set of door locks and keys and a matching ignition cylinder, you will be ALL SET!!!
There are a ton of forum members that will help you get through the change out. I would attempt to do it yourself!!! It is NOT rocket science!!
I hope they catch the ROTTEN Bastards and cut off their FOBS!!
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
