It is a good idea but I think the practality of the idea is more than meets the eye. It would require major revamping of the inner liner behind the front fasica and also repalcement of the lower ducting if using the Vararam to what I don't know. Keep up the good work. It never hurts to throw out an idea.
Thanks for the comment--can you explain a little more? The thought was to have a cut out right around where the Corvette emblem is and have air go directly into the intake from there. I'm sure that I need to look under the hood again... I didn't understand your comment about the vararam. I didn't have any intention of using the vararam.

Sorry as I too misunderstood your intent. I do think the lines are lost with the additionial opening. If you decide to go with the plate filler this too could be used for the intake with a modified cover. Just a thought.

According to one of the design engineers (I forgot his name) of the C6 Z06 the cut out at the front edge of the hood is only there to help move air through the engine compartment. That hole is not big enough nor is its placement ideal for intake air (you want forced air and at that point the airodynamics won't allow for it). By the way I do intend to use Vararam which takes its air from cut outs just inside of both fog lights. I am hoping that there is an opening behind the grills containing the fog lights and that the original brackets holding them have been accounted for (the Vararam replaces the orig brackets and accepts the fog lights). I don't care for the cut out that much anyway; I like it smooth, simple, and flowing. Hope this can help.
This was years ago..but did anything ever come of this fascia? Not that I'm interested or not...I'm not...I am about to receive the TS2 from Corvette Creationz....but this WAS an interesting idea that appeal to many people. Halltech was supposed to have something similar, but I never saw that either, and its not on their website in 2013...Heck, most anything for a C5 is not on thier website any more!
