Default Cigarette adapter broke

I bought an 01 C5 and noticed my V1 didnt work in it, I found the 2nd adapter in the armrest but its really far to stretch the radar detectors cable.

My friend has a 99 c5 and said he broke his by constantly unplugging his cell phone charger.
How much would the dealer charge to fix this? "ballpark"
Is this something I can fix?
Where should I look for a replacement?

Is it getting power, or did you break something inside? If you want to replace, easy fix, small part replacement at dealship or junkyard. If it looks fine then it might be the fuse in the fuse box on the passenger side floor board.

It might just be a loose connection in the back of the cigarette lighter.
You can use these instructions from Vette Essentials to get the center console pieces out to check the connection in the back of lighter.

I will bet the connector behind the trim is the problem. I found this to be the case with mine numerous times. It seemed like it was connected correctly yet I still had no power in the outlet. I feel it's a bad design for the outlet. It just doesn't make the correct contact at times even though it's snapped in place.
