Pulling the shroud out was not the hardest part by a long shot. Wait till you get up in there and have to get the foglight surrounds out and replace them.
They were a Beatch for me. That part got me pissed...........
But I got through it. Bring all your patience when doing the Vararam.
I just installed my Vararam this weekend. It took me quite a while but I would say the hardest part would be removing the two foglight housings. Replacing them with the new foglight/vararam intake can be a B*$#% as well. Everything else is just time consuming because of all the ratcheting you have to do... Everything is really secure in the engine compartment - & by that I mean the shroud has like 8 different screws to remove. Once you remove all the screws from the radiator shroud then it can be pulled right out the top. I did break the two card door style plastic connectors... I found it easier to pull it up from the bottom after I installed the new intake. Follow the link above, it explains everything for the most part... Good Luck!
When I did it I removed the hood.
It give you a lot of access and it is only 4 bolts to the frame.
the fog light is also a little bit painfull.
remove them through the two screws that hold them
I installed my varaam earlier this week also. I think the hardest part was the fog light covers. I even had a lift at my friends shop I don't think it was hard just a pain in the a!@!
I agree with everyone on the fog light covers being the most difficult part of the install. It's just like anything else though, the first time is a learning process and after that you can cut the installation time in half.
