Default Koolmat heatmaster, Info please.

Will be getting new headers soon. Thought while old exhaust was off I might add the Heatmaster to reduce heat/noise as described by vendor. Anyone have experience with this mod? Thanks in advance

Do you mean around the tunnel of the car - C5 that is? What we did is use frost king throughout the hatch area(coupe) and on the floor of the car. Can't remember the name of the insulation - got it from Home Depot - but it is like bubble wrap with aluminum facing on either side. It is quite inexpensive. Placed it on both sides of the tunnel and on top of the tunnel. No heat at all gets through this stuff!! The final inspector, my wife, gave it approval. A great "mods party" project to do with friends. Takes a lot of time to do the back area but not much to do the tunnel. Hope this helps.

I have the Heatmaster Heatshield from LG Motorsports. It does a good job of restricting the heat transfer through the tunnel.

yep, the Heatmaster Heatshield is made to handle high temps.

The Frost King, Reflectix, Dynomat Xtreme are only good up to around 200 degrees.

I had the Heatmaster Heatshield put in when the headers were done. Also put in the Stainless Steel tunnel stiffener when the H/C work was done. Great combination to reduce heat and noise and reducing body flex through the tunnel tube.
