New wheels, now car sits higher?
Is this normal when putting on new wheels?
No way for this to happen unless you decreased the overall diameter of the wheels. If you decrease the overall diameter of the wheels it will appear that the car has been lifted due to the fact that you will have more space between the wheel well and tire. The car would overall sit lower in relation to the ground.
Your car should sit a little lower now considering you decreased the overall diameter in the rear by .5" and the front by about .4" or so. By changing to those sizes, you have increased the gap between your wheel well and tire by about a 1/4" or so.
Stock C5 sizes
Rear diameter: 26.66"
Front diameter: 25.68"
Your new tires:
Rear diameter: 26.13"
Front diameter: 25.30"
Hopefully you are not noticing the 1/4" difference. From how you describe it, it sounds like it is noticably higher. Drive the car around, it should settle. It always happens to me everytime I raise mine off the ground.
