Questions about changing fuel filter
Whats up all? I got my WIX fuel filter today for my 97 and I need to know what tool I need to remove the outlet line from the old filter. On the new filter it looks like some kind of pressure fitting.

I just changed mine a couple of weeks ago.
BIG PAIN IN THE @SS!
you can get the tool at any auto parts store. I paid 8.00
fuel line / AC removal tool looks like a little plastic collar with a split down the middle. 5/16 i think?

what is a WIX fuel filter???
so what does the tool do? I guess it spreads open the connector on the filter?
Be advised that when I tried an aftermarket fuel filter from advanced auto parts, it did not work right. Filter was killing fuel pressure and car would not hold WOT on the dyno.
I got the GM one from the dealer. It was about $9.00. "97 & '98's use the NON-pressure regulator model. BTW, I had to cut the old one off. Due to space constraints I couldn't get the tool aligned properly on the line.
