Will bad battery make codes appear?
Battery on my car is going bad. I need to charge battery whenever i want to move car (in storage for winter).
Thing is, I have all these codes showing up (or may have been there before, just got car).
Could a bad battery cause codes to appear?
Here is what I had:
40-BCM -Body Control Module
B0432 Rear Defogger Relay Circuit
B0503 RH DRL Relay Circuit
B0508 LH DRL Relay Circuit
B2588 Column Lock/Unlock Drive (A)
B2723 PASS-Key Detection Circuit
B2592 Column Lock/Unlock Drive (B)
B2583 Column Lock/Unlock Drive (B)
99-HVAC - Heater, Ventilation, Air Conditioning
B0446 Right Actuator Out of Range
A6-SCM - Seat Control Module
B0851 Battery 1 Out of Range

B2284 Battery #2 Fault
A1-RDCM - Right Door Control Module

A bad battery can cause codes - I don't know if it is the cause of all of the ones you got or not, but it can cause codes. I looked at your profile and saw you have a 98 - if you still have to original battery then I would advise you to replce it sooner rather than later. The OEM batteries in 97s through part of 01 have a design flaw that caused them to leak frequently. In the C% the battery is mounted above some of the electronics - you do not want acid leakig on them. There is a tech tip on this battrery problem to get more details, but the net is if you have a 97 - 01 with the original side terminal Delco battery - get it changed now - do not wait for a $1000+ repair bill.

This looks like a classic case of leaking battery you should check under your battery to make sure it's not leaking and cooking any wires to your computer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you dont see any leakage replace the battery anyway

doesnt look like its leaking. What are the telltale signs?

A weak battery WILL and CAN cause all of the codes. The NO COMMs codes are a dead give a way that the battery is weak.
As for acid damage inspections, you will need to remove the battery, remove the passengers wheel and remove the inspection panel that is in the fender well to inspect the PCM and the TAC module. Also look for wiring harness damage and frame corrosion.
The first thing to go if you have acid damage in the wiring harness will be the vacuum lines and the ability to control the HVAC vents.

The frame has some signs of surface corrosion, but wiring looks intact.
New battery going in tomorrow, as well as a thourough engine shampoo
what hvac codes would i get if hose went?

The only symptom will be that you will have NO control over where the air comes out of. Most of the time it will fail to the defrost vent! That is a SURE sign that the vacuum supply is missing.
Here is where the HVAC vacuum supply originates. If it ever comes loose from there,,,man it will be a BITCH to get it back on!!!
