This weeks problem seems to be the fuel gauge needle bouncing between E and F . Is the computer range to empty still accurate , or do I have to use the odometer to calculate milage now. I finally got my POS stripped gear headlights fixed after 3 trys now this. After this maybe I'll fix my rocking seat.
i had a problem like that once after i filled up.it read empty.m said it was something in the gas or something like that.anyway,it happened once and that was it.fixed itself.your seat rocking thing might be covered by gmpp if you have it.i called on mine and the dealer's going to do it.
You could try switching brands of gas or adding a high quality Fuel System Cleaner - then there is a tech tip which calls for a reprogramming of the car....

Run a few tanks with the Chevron Techron fuel system cleaner. red line fuel cleaner is also great stuff.
There are fuels out there that use the new High Tier systems. this brand of fuel is suppose to help solve fuel system woes on newer vehicles! Shell is one of the companies!
Run a few tanks with cleaner in the tank and see if it helps!
I was driving from Los Angeles to Orlando and had that problem. I got gas at the Arizona border (non-California good stuff). About 60 miles later, my fuel gage went to empty (maybe not so good). A few hours later, I refueled and it went back to full. Never seen it happen again . . .

i have had these problems since day one.The dealership changed the float and it was fine for about a year.Try using Chevron injector cleaner with Techron. It cures my gas gauge problem for about 4-6 months and I have to use the cleaner again.Cheaper then replacing the float assembly.
I was using Shell and my gas gauge would stick at 3/4 tank for an hour or more. I am now taking some trying some tips from the forum and have switched to Chevron. It's seems to be helping some.
