Hi, I got my car back 2 days ago and since I got it back, everytime I shut the car off, all of the averages reset. I have a new Optima Yellow Top battery, but it is in the rear. I was just wondering if anything could be done to stop it from resetting. The battery is not weak or dead, as the car starts with no problem.

Hi,I had the same problem, except my car wouldn't start.Andy found dirty battery cables. The symptoms you described are identical to mine.May be dirty the same cure,i don't know, but its worth a try.Clean the calbles and let us know the outcome.
I will check it out, but the battery just went in less than a week ago and it didnt do it with the old battery. Oh wait, could it be cause its in the back now?
Your voltage is dropping low some how for that to happen. You have a high resistance connection somewher. Recheck, clean and tighten all of the connections that have been made to get the battery in the back. I bet if you check, more than just your fuel averages are resetting. If you have a HUD, I bet it is resetting back to the initial screen and your trip meters go to zero.
Is it possible they did not run the wires that go from battery to PCM? Original setup has the negative and positive cables and two small negative and positive wires.
Ooohhhhhhhh Yea!! You absolutly MUST have the smaller chassis grounds!!!!!!! If they are missing, I would say that is a real posibility of being the problem!!
I will check it out the next time I get out to the garage to drive it, (damn Illinois winters) I will see if the wires are there. Thanks for all of the advice.
