Reverse problem??

Reverse problem??
I seem to have an occasional problem with reverse in my 6 speed. Sometimes I put it in reverse and when I start to let out the clutch it sounds like extremely fast grinding or whurring. Of course I push the clutch back in, take it out of gear, put it back in and then it goes away. Any ideas as to what this is?

Could be a shifter rod adjustment but most of the time the reverse gear is worn! NOT good!
I would make sure you are really getting it FULLY IN GEAR! I have missed getting it in first once or twice and it has jumped out of gear! That is why I purchased an aftermarket shifter! The Kirban shifter solved that issue!!!

Worn would be NO GOOD. I'm hoping that it just doesn't mesh well for some reason. If I put it in first, second, then reverse it seems to be ok. I have had other cars where reverse would grind if you didn't do that.
