Hey everyone, just got my first Corvette a couple weeks ago. Been playing with the buttons and came across my tire pressure. Wondering what pressure is best? I do not really do much racing(yet), so I just want to prolong the life of my tires. I believe right now they are about 32/32 at the front and like 33/33 at the back.
P.S these are not stock tires, I think they are Falken's something.
I stuck with thye factory rating (30 PSI cold) on my 99 and now 03 Z. Had both cars for almost 5 years and over 35K miles w/o any tire wear issues. Well the rear tires on the Z are starting to look a little thin, can't figure out what I'm doing wrong

I use 30 psi all the way around, even for HPDE and I have 21,xxx miles on my factory tires so far. Tires are wearing perfectly even.

maybe im to high, Im at 33 psi, but in the winter it seems to drop to the 20's
Tire pressure will change as the outside air temp changes. That's why you have to check the tire pressure frequently as the seasons change.
I also run 30 psi cold all around. I also have a $15 tire pressure pump (dc powered by the car's accessory plug) and a nice pressure guage that I keep in the Vette to adjust the air pressure when the outside temp changes.
Last week it was in the 60's here, this week it's in the 20-30's. Had to add air this week.
I tried 35 PSI when I first changed to Chrome Speedlines and it really felt strange. I didn't like the ride at all. It didn't feel like as much of the tire was contacting the pavement. I'm using 30 PSI cold now and it feels just right. Can't tell you much about wear because I've only got 8K on the clock and the tires really don't have much wear at all........
I think he's asking because he has non-stock tires. The OEM runflats have much stiffer sidewalls comparedto almost all aftermarket tires. I had to keep my EMTs at 28 (70-degree days) or they would wear in the center. However, my Goodyear GSD3 non-runflats seem to be fine at 30 psi. I'm also speculating that the weight of the driver/passengers could make a difference, however slight.

Whatever works with the particular tire you are running and what you are trying to accomplish, i.e.-normal driving, drag racing, street racing, driving to church with wife, etc. etc. etc.!
