A4 trans fluid pump broke, what causes this??
I took my car out the other day for a quick spin. Just had the dealership install a new(rebuilt) tranny 4 weeks ago. The trans went out and no gears would engage. Dealership said the transmission pump went out. They are replacing it, what causes this? Was this part of my new transmission? Is this common? Could this have damaged the new transmission in any way?

Got the car back today. The Dealership invoice says " R&R Trans- Replaced Pump and Body cover: Recondition to clean out debris." Do you think that its ok now or should the trans have been totally replaced again?
