Car's Computer went crazy today!! (help needed)
Ok so I try it again and everything is fine..............
So I drive it home and mess with it in the drive way. I try and resync the fob and the horn beeps but this time I can't lock the passenger door. Only the drivers door will lock but the weird thing is that if you manually push the passenger lock button the drivers door locks.
So basically it is acting freaking weird. Now I automatically think about recent activity on the car. The only thing I did was change the oil 3 days ago but yesterday I had the new tires put on by the GM dealership. I did notice on the ride home yesterday that I couldn't read my tire pressure anymore on the display but figured I would talk to them tomorrow.
So does my computer need to be flashed or something?????? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. My car is a '99 C5.
some other here has had this kind of problem. there are a couple of threads with pic of where the contection are and they have to be cleaned. A bad ground will cause the computer to act
so check this out too while your are looking into it. I had my battrie go and the computer went nuts. things just like you are having, but mine would not start bought new red top and everything went back, no problems
good luck some of the better memebers will chime in soon they might know something i do not.
Also, check the battery terminal connections. Also, the dummies at the dealer forgot, or didn't want to, retrain your tire sensors. I've had weird things happen sometimes too when the battery conns are flaky. I was sitting at a stop light once and my horn started beeping. Then it stopped, then it started again. People thought I was an aggressive driver...

Here are some things to check:
Look in the passengers foot well under the toe board. You will see this:

The silver box is the Body Control Module (BCM). It does NOT like water!!
If it gets damp or wet, your car will go hay wire!
Check the carpet and the jute insulation under the carpet for water or dampness.Loose or dirty battery terminals can cause some very weird electrical problems. It is recommended that you remove both terminals, wire brush the battery and wire terminals clean and re-torque the terminals to 11 foot/pounds.
How old and what kind of battery do you have??
A weak or damaged battery can cause the electrical system to shut down for a brief moment and set numerous DTC codes. What DTC codes are in the DIC? Please read them and post them here, Clear them after you write them down.
You have an older C5 soooooooooo, it is time for you to do some Chassis Ground Maintenance!
Here is my post that will explain a little bit about grounds! They are Very important and frequently overlooked!!

It might just be a bad battery connection. And the part about the tire sensors
what he saidiagree:

About the new tires.....make sure the rotation is correct. There is a little arrow showing which way the rotation should be. May sound dumn, but it could happen.
