Well after 30k in just 1 year I definately need to replace them. Just wondering the best make and type for the Vette.
The car is idling weird when stopped in neutral it goes from 750 to 500 rpms and sometimes it feels like it's going to stall but never does. I wonder if this is due to the plugs not producing enough spark.
This has been discussed to death, but it is all opine
I have what I consider the best .........
Magnecor wires KV85
call Steve www.magnecor.com
plugs are NGK TR55 great copper plugs without tips that fall off
just do a search and you will find lots of info on this topic.
I'm using NGK TR-55's, they cost $1.20ea., that's a little over $10.00 with tax for a set of 8.
there is no sense paying extra for the "gimmick" plugs (+4's, etc...). been there, done that and saw no gain.
right now, any plug that you put in is going show an improvement in performance, wether it's a $1.20ea copper plug or $9.00ea "gimmick" plug!
so don't get fooled into thinking the "gimmick" plug is making a big difference.
save the extra $40.00 and treat yourself (and a friend) to dinner!
When is the last time you cleaned the air filter? Your MAF could be dirty. Last, but not least, make sure all the connections right up to the throttle body are tight.
BTW, NGK Iridiums. Nice plug for stock car. I think I will go with TR6's next.
