Try cleaning the little pellet on the key with some rubbing alcohol. Then use a little compressed air to blow out the ignition in the dash.

I agree. This happened to me. The dash lights would come on and the accessories would work but the engine wouldn't turn over. There was grease, or something, on the key pellet. Clean the key well, and then wet the key down with alcohol and insert it and remove it several times to clean the ignition switch. It worked for me and haven't had a problem since. Good luck!

Replace the battery and make absoluty sure that the battery cable terminals and screws are clean. The terminal bolts must be torqued down to 11 FT/LBS. After the battery change, clear ALL of your codes! See if you still have the problem. If so, read the codes again and post them here. I have some other things that you need to check after you do all of this.

Also check for any battery leakage coming from the positive terminal, under the battery on the tray and under the tray where the cables and electronics are. If you see any, clean it with a solution of baking soda and water or other acid neutralizer.

I went through that mess too. Its your ignition believe it or not. I had the exact same problem.i got a new key and everything. Just have the ignition redone. If you dont belive me take the round plastic around the ignition off twist left to right a few times and watch it fire right up
I bought a new battery for no reason too. Just give it a try you will see. The dealer charges around 500 to do. Get it done its a damn headache.

I had the same problem. When you turn the key, the ignition cylinder reads the resistance of the "pellet" on the key and passes it to the BCM. If the resistance is the correct value, it will start, if not it will disable starting for 5 minutes and flash the security light on the dash.

A new key cylinder fixed my problem. It could also be dirty keys, a dirty cylinder, or your BCM is going out.
