I had the Vette out last weekend for a little drive and the left signal blinks about 3 times as fast as the right one. It did this once before and went away. Now it's back. I checked all the lights and they are all working. They blink fast as well. It comes and goes. Any ideas??? Will the relay being worn out do this or once it's worn doesn't it just blink fast all the time?
Assuming that the bulbs are working the only other thing I can think of is for you to see if the 4 way flasher switch may be causing this - it is known to prevent the blinkers totally, but maybe it can cause this too? Try turning them on and off a few times when your blinkers are working OK to see if it makes the problem appear. Also if your blinkers are blinking fast try to turn the 4 ways on and off a few times and see if it clears up the problem.
It is possible one of your bulbs is sitting in the socket, not locked into the socket... I have seen this a few times.. if the original install was not positive at the socket, the bulb can intermittently vibrate and disconnect. if it is the same side all the time... I would suspect this is the case..
Never thought about that. I will check the bulbs to see if that might be a problem. I hear that changing the fronts is quite the chore.
The front bulb takes about 15 minutes...
crank up your headlight using the thumb wheel counterclockwise. remove the three phillips screws holding the black plastic headlight surround and remove it.
reach down under the headlight , push in the radial tab on the socket and turn clockwise, 1/4 turn. The socket may be stuck from dirt build up so work the socket back and forth using a small amount of pressure, then increase the force in small increments so you do not break the socket..
