Congrats! BTW, if the rears are like the C4 (which they probably are) unless you are familiar with the emergency brake set up, don't take the caliper completely off. When I did our 94 I just took out one bolt and swiveled the caliper to put in new pads. If you are going to clean the rotor then you probably have to take it off anyway, and follow the service manual on the emergency brake adjustment (unless there are secret tips I don't know about???)
Take your time and have fun!
The rear are the same as the fronts. The parking brake is independant from the caliper. It would be an issue only if you remove the rotor. These are some of the easiest brakes to work on.
I usually loosen the bleeder screw when the caliper is still on the car. Then I tighten it very lightly. When pushing the pistons back into the cylinders I open the bleeder and point it up. This allows the old brakefluid to exit the caliper and not go back into the lines and master cylinder. Once the pistons are back fully tighten the bleeder and install. This will help you keep a clean system. 99 Nassau Blue
Hey..how ez are those speed bleeders to use? Look like you replace the oem bleeder with the speed bleeders. Then what; pump the pedal like normal to bleed brakes starting at the furthers from the master cylinder?
Thanks,

It doesnt take much to make them not fit right when reinstalling them.
ALSO...BE SURE that when you compress your caliper pistons, that you are not backing up a lot of brake fluid in to your master cylinder. It is a mess to clean up, and eats paint.
I just finished putting speed bleeders on and flushing system with new dot 4 brake fluid. Got bleeders at PEP Boys for $20.
Installed new Hawk HP Pads front and rear. Man have I got brakes now.
If you like the new brakes now you should install a new brake proportioning spring from Doug Rippie DRMS. $12 and it makes the rears work a little harder and the braking is fantastic now. 30 minutes to install. The nose does not dive like it used too. One of the best bang for the buck mods you can do.
