Front Wheel Size Question

Has anyone ever put an OEM rear 18x9.5 on the front of their car ? Just wondering about the offset. Would like to have 18's all around with 275/40 tires.

We have AFS zo6 18x9.5 wheels on a lowered 98 C5 but with 265-35-18 with no issues.

Many times.......with magnesium rims
275/35/18 & 295/35/18 w/o issue and the tires are inside the fenders.

Depends on the wheel. I have a set of 17x9.5 Mallet 396s on the front of my '99 and the tire sidewall sticks out slightly from the fenderwell.

you may have issues with stock 275/40s. most 18s up front are 275/35s. the 40-series may be too tall for the AH to be happy, but that depends on your rear tire choice.

I had 285/30/18s on front on 18x9.5 thin spokes. worked fine only thing that would happen is the tire would sort of drag a little when I backed up and had the steering wheel turned all the way left or right. I think it was just from the tire being so wide.

Thanks for the input gentlemen, my local discount tire outlet said there could be an issue and I wanted to ask the forum. Now need to decide on a tire rather than the infamous runflats. Thanks for heads up on the 40 series all around, will put 40's on the rear and 35's in the front.
