please just use mobil 1 5w-30. if you have a pep boys in your area you can buy a calendar at the counter for $1. In the calendar there is a coupon for "buy 3, get 3 free" of mobil 1 fully synthetic oil. This will save you $15 off the normal $30 per 6 quarts. head to your nearest pep boys!!
If you look at the used oil analyses, many have been getting really good results with German Castrol 0W-30. I ran Amsoil up to the last change and have the oil analyzed after each change. It has provided excellent results to date. Mobil-1 is a good oil, but with a viscosity of 10 Cst at 100 degrees C, which is almost in the 20W range, I want an oil in the upper third of the 30W range. I am now running the German Castrol.

Not sure I agree with the "thicker is better" anymore. Shear strengths are so good with modern synthetics that I would rather error on the side of thin to make sure I was geting complete flow in every passage.
This is heresay for you oil analysis guys but there now is even a school of thought that says an oil that shows higher metal may be just doing a good job of carrying things in suspension (as it is vital that they do) while some oils that show up really good in analysis (low metals) may be accomplishing that by just depositing the metals around the engine rather than carrying them in suspension.
All that comes down to me using Mobil 1 10w/30.

I know !
But....better stick with SAE grading to meet your warrantee. Would hate to argue after usiing a non-specified oil.
