My check engine light came on. Pulled the codes. Only current code is the P1416. Book says it is air pump, I think one bank has a problem on startup and I'm killing the planet now.
I don't think it makes any difference to driving it.
Anyone had this happen and have any idea what it is? Something I could fix myself without having to schedule a dealer trip and fragging up a day?
TIA,
(P.S. Mods, I posted this in general, probably should be in tech - a little help?)
I wont be much help but mine comes on with this periodically and then it goes away. The check valve apparently is behind the intake manifold. I have no clue what it looks like but I think they have a tendency to get rusty. Does anybody have a pic of the part?
It looks like a giant pain in the ^&@ to get to the check valve. I am just resetting the check engine light every other start but it is getting on my nerves.
Here's the one on the other side of the engine, but the P1416 references the one on the other side that ends up behind the intake manifold. Try to follow the tube out of the exhaust manifold on the other side of the engine to see what I mean.
I assume that this means the problem does not affect performance or driving in any way? In other words, I can have it looked at on my own schedule, it isn't a rush job.
